Changing of the guard

If I were asked to use one word to define my life this very moment, the word would be CHANGE. This picture seems to shout that word to me so I  am sharing it.

This message is for those who try to prevent us from moving into the future because they feel threatened by change: The passage of time is defined by how things change, not by how they remain the same. This does not mean that by changing things back to the way they once were we bring the past back. The past is by its very meaning … past. Let’s start living FORWARD again!

A camera’s eye view … of a camera

I have not posted any yet, but I have a fascination with reflections, and find myself often trying to take pictures involving them. Ironically, like with many of my other attempts at artistry, some of the pics I like the best are actually more of an accident then by intent. I am not sure what I was aiming for when I took this the other day, but it was not quite this. Still, I kind of liked the result … so here it is.

Lunch time!

In anticipation of SPRING!! I decided to share one of my favorite pics from LAST spring (2011):

Release the dreams …

I have had the urge to post this pic for some time now but kept finding reasons not to. But today is my nieces 9th birthday and this pic seems somehow a fitting tribute. So here it is.

May your dreams be limitless and may they carry you into the heavens!!

A feather

As Spring gives random hints of appearing, and in an effort to do something more lighthearted after some recent posts, I offer this:

Camera Vision

Frequently, I see the world as I would through the lens of a camera. For anyone who has a passion for photography, this makes perfect sense. We see something in terms of what kind of picture it would make, which is often quite different than what others might see. This can be quite frustrating when Camera Vision sets in and no camera is available, something that has happened to me quite often. That said, I will often see something in and around my house that requires I run for the camera. I saw this yesterday:

Unfortunately, as is often the case, my lack of skill did not actually let me capture what I saw, but it is still a decent picture. As I walked through the kitchen to put the camera away, I was still viewing the world with Camera Vison, and was caught by another image:

Once again the skill with machine did not quite match the mind’s eye, but this time I played with settings to get this alternative:

Sometimes my Camera Vision and my skill align. Sometimes they do not. But even when I don’t specifically catch the vision I see, it does not mean the pics are not something to enjoy.

The world goes on …

I wanted to post a pic from my past but couldn’t decide which one. I asked one of my inspiring friends for a theme or quote, and I would see if I had a suitable picture. This is the result. Maybe not the best pic I ever took, but still not bad, and seems to fit. Enjoy.

Burn down your cities and leave our farms, and your cities will spring up again as if by magic; but destroy our farms and the grass will grow in the streets of every city in the country.

The journey continues …

Sometimes we need to look into the past to have the strength and courage to continue our journey into the future.

Inevitable

Once upon a time …
